A Day with Butterflies

We had so much fun at preschool today! We got to go to a butterfly exhibit in the mall where we actually got to touch butterflies. Brett LOVED it, Allison was freaked out (as shown in the pictures)!

Let it Snow...in February!

The kids and I had a GREAT time playing in the snow, although we wished Daddy could have come too. Brett had difficulty understanding the concept of how fun snow really is. He got mad at me when I threw snowballs at him, he cried when he fell in the snow, he cried when he couldn't play on the playground equipment, etc..... THEN he realized that you can make balls out of snow, AND throw them at mommy without getting into trouble. All his woes went away and he had SO MUCH FUN. Allison had no trouble at all diving into the snow-filled fun. She even adventured up a "Snow hill" as she called it. She refused to come to the car when it was time to leave, so Brett and I started to "leave her." She didn't care, but Brett freaked out and screamed "My Allison, My Allison...." I actually had to get in the car and shut the door before Allison became alarmed:) That girl!!!!! How we love her, and her tender-hearted little brother!

Allison would NOT stop eating the snow. I finally told her she couldn't because animals poop and pee in the snow. hahaha, that seemed to help.

Brett thought I was going to throw a snowball at him :)

Happy Valentine's Day from the Wenzel Crew

We had a great Valentine's day. We were able to go and pick up Daddy from vet school... pick up some food, and sit on a blanket in the living room for a Valentine's day picnic (as it snowed outside).

Lame :)

Dear family and friends.
Here at the Wenzel house, we've been totally lame with our happy birthday wishes. So, we are trying to make it up to our dear family and friends by doing a combined happy birthday song in which Allison uses the word "somebody" to refer to all the people we haven't sung to (she came up with that wording all by herself). She even dressed up for the occasion. Then if you will listen closely, your name should be mentioned at the end:) We love all of you and hope to again improve our abilities to stay on track with the birthday wishes.

Love,
The mommy who can't get it together on most days:)

Enjoy

Brett's Obsession

So for our 1st preschool experience, we went to the fire station. Allison was excited to go. Brett was excited as well....until he realized that fire trucks live AT the fire station...then he became obsessed. He HAD to see one up close and personal. At one point, he pushed his way through the crowd of children to get to the fireman. He proceeded to take the fireman by the hand and request to go see the firetrucks. After much waiting, Brett's little 2 year old dreams came true. He ACTUALLY got to get in a fire truck. Then I had to go in after him because he wouldn't come out.

Not so patiently waiting to see the fire trucks
Walking down the hall to watch a fire safety movie (please note Brett at the front of the group)

Watching the fire safety movie

Watching the fireman put on his gear (Brett said, "that's so silly")

Our attempted picture in front of the firetruck :):)

Over all, I think it was the best day of Brett's little life :) I think Allison had fun too.

Happy Birthday Cole

Well, he's made it another year, the big 28! We had a great time. I told the kids they could go pick something out at the store for him. When asked what they wanted to get, Brett replied, "goldfish" (probably because Cole loves goldfish and is always eating them with the kids). Allison replied, "some new underwear!" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I wonder why that was her response??? Needless to say, we had a great time at the store, I was able to convince Allison to choose something else. We opened presents and ate spectacular ice cream sundaes (because Cole doesn't like cake). Great times

Color blind?

So... every once in a while, I become a crazy mom. :) Like the other day, I was working on letters, numbers, shapes, etc with my kiddos. Allison does really well with all of them. Brett was doing REALLY good with everything except colors. I'll I could get him to identify was pink (great right???). So my crazy mommy wheels started turning in my crazy mommy head, "What if he's color blind????" He can do several letters and sounds, numbers, some shapes, but not colors. Cole of course (the rational one) was like "So what if he is color-blind...everything is fine, Brett is fine." I wasn't convinced, soooo I got the color counting bears. I was pleasantly surprised. Brett isn't color blind after all, and I can go back to being a some-what normal mommy....

Aren't you impressed? hahaha
