We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirndess and call it love.

Happy Birthday to Me!

I belong to an organization here in Manhattan called "The Little Apple Business Women" to help promote my photography.  One of the ladies that also belongs owns a cupcake/cheesecake business called Little Apple Flour Shop.  This is what I ordered myself :) Red Velvet Cheesecake....

Note the large amounts of red...hahaha

Allison's new obsession is people's names.  She wants to know EVERYONE'S names EVERYWHERE we go....  This is the conversation that took place at our local grocery store:)

Allison:  "Mom, what is her name (pointing to the cashier in the check out line)?"
Mom:  "I don't know, you'll have to ask her."
Allison:  "Hi!  What is your name?"
Cashier: "Elisa, what's your name?
Allison:  "I'm Allison."
Brett:  "I'm Prince Charming!"
Cashier:  "Well Prince Charming, I've been waiting a long time for you to come."

Nice Brett :):)

Before and After

It isn't very often that I post pictures of myself....so here you go.  I went and had a Mary Kay Facial....  This was the outcome :)  What do you think????

Splash park take two

 I love this girl :):)

:)

So, I think she could stay at the splash park ALL day :) She LOVES the water- must be my baby

So, I'm a mean mom and made Brett give it a try. He HATES cold water....must be Cole's baby :):)
still crying as I'm snapping pictures. Fortunately a nice gentleman came rushing to his side while I (mother of the year), continued to take pictures

Allison took care of the situation by informing the nice man that Brett was with her:) She brought him to safety (apparently he was paralyzed by the cold water)

Brett in the safety of the dry, warm sidelines :)

Out of the Mouth of Allison

So the other night, the kids wouldn't settle down and go to bed.  We finally put Allison on our bed. Several minutes later, I heard her crying. I went upstairs and she proceeded to sob "I can't live without my brother!!!!!" Sad huh? So dramatic, she is only 3...I wonder what it will be like in our house when she is 15????? EEEEK!!!!
Cole recently shaved his facial hair off......later that day.....Allison:  "Daddy, I can't live without your mustache.  Put it back on TODAY TODAY."

Brett got into trouble and got a spanken and put in time out.  Allison quickly told him "Brett, come over here and let's have a talk."  She guided him over to the stairs, put her hand on his shoulder and said... "If you listen to Mommy you won't get into trouble."  Profound huh???

Hmmmmm.........

Allison and Brett were playing and got into trouble (surprise surprise)....so they got put into their room for a time out.  Just another day in the land of Mommy, Allison and Brett right? WRONG.... as I went to get them out of time out and bring them down stairs (tears were cried, sorrys were said etc), they proceeded to gang up on me and revolt.  The told me that "You aren't our friend..."  then they proceeded to use a toy that they said shot out fire against me.
What the heck?????
Cole asked if perhaps they needed therapy....hahaha... I swear we don't ever use fire as a punishment in our household :)  Fortunately the revolt only lasted until someone needed a snack, smooch/hug, or their butts wiped.  Good thing I'm so forgiving :):)

An unexpected visit to the Splash Pad

The kids and I were killing some time before we had to go and pick up Tinkerbell's dog food...so, we went to City Park to play.  Right next to city park is the Splash Pad (loads of water dumping, squirting, spraying, etc everywhere).  Well, it was only 70 something degrees... so I didn't think my kids would be interested.....  I was wrong.  Allison was VERY interested as you can see from the pictures.  (Brett was far more cautious and only got the bottom of his pants wet...and quickly wanted to go play on the playground equipment).

Out of the mouth of Brett

One morning a couple days ago Brett was laying in bed with me and looked over at a wedding picture of Cole and me.  He proceeded to tell me.... "Momma, you are a princess....and Daddy, he's a horse!"  I'm not sure what that means, but I think I got the better end of this deal.

Lacey 2.......  Cole 0

Love you Brett Brett :):)
